Trying to understand the thought behind this trade...
 Referencing your post--above...
You are looking at a break-even of $14.46 as workable when the stock is around $21--need another +25% drop just to BE @ expiration?

Will you take profit or loss early? Do you have "written" rules?
 ================================================================================

On most short term options I take profit at 50% or less depending on the type of option trade, DTE, stock movement, etc.. So vertical spreads are around 50%, butterflies or iron condors around 30%, etc. I will even close out an option if its getting close to expiration for a few dollars profit as tastytrade only charges $1 per leg on open and 0 on close.

I dont have any written rules. Ive watched almost every tastytrade video they've made and learned from them.

As far as any of the Leap options I own...... I am absolutely convinced that there will be a world wide recession/crash/slow painful fall, within the next 6 - 18 months. So those are long term holds for me (long term being 6 months+) until the time is right to sell them. I've been buying them in different industries that I think will be hurt the most, at prices that I consider very cheap for how much they will pay off if Im correct.

I also buy a cheap vix call every month as a kind of insurance against black swan type events.
The world is so awash in debt beyond anything imaginable, the ending is not going to be pretty.

  Thanks for the details.
In knowing the analysis and logic they give context to the trade.

  Pa247,

Sorry for being a pain... is it possible to add 3 items to your post?

 1.The price of the stock.
2.Reasoning why the trade is placed. A sentence or two.
3.Expected profit exit and loss exit.

This will provide more detail for those trying to follow your trades and reasons.

  ok. I can do that.

Any LEAPs that are in 2021 are because of this "As far as any of the Leap options I own...... I am absolutely convinced that there will be a world wide recession/crash/slow painful fall, within the next 6 - 18 months. So those are long term holds for me (long term being 6 months+) until the time is right to sell them. I've been buying them in different industries that I think will be hurt the most, at prices that I consider very cheap for how much they will pay off if Im correct."

The monthly VIX options are this: " I also buy a cheap vix call every month as a kind of insurance against black swan type events. " When the VIX falls below 12-13 I buy a cheap call for a future month.

I cant go back and edit anything so when I post new I'll include the info.
