I don't get it.
XIV is a short ETF and the S&P is up.
So why is XIV up?
What am I missing?

XIV is an inverse etn. while UVXY is not.
Fund Summary
The investment seeks to replicate, net of expenses, the inverse of the daily performance of the S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures index. The index was designed to provide investors with exposure to one or more maturities of futures contracts on the VIX, which reflects implied volatility of the S&P 500 Index at various points along the volatility forward curve. The calculation of the VIX is based on prices of put and call options on the S&P 500 Index. The ETNs are linked to the daily inverse return of the index and do not represent an investment in the inverse of the VIX.

I bailed XIV @ 28.64,
not because my system triggered, but because i made
so much damn money that i would be a fool
even to give back a portion of it.

Just something i saw on oil but would not bank on it.
As far as XIV, my filter is still in long mode,
but am afraid to re-enter this late in its cycle.
The market is not fit for humans, unless you are completely robotic,
i suggest real estate. For instance, i bought 4 condos last year for 50-75g,
everyone of them is worth more than 120g now plus i collect 1300 monthly rent for each &
2300 for a single family home.
I now own 14 units & never have to work again.
