Kentucky the first man to die went to the hospital with stroke symptoms, then had a stroke and a heart attack but tested positive for covid so they called it a covid death

18,000 Americans died, all ages affected similarly.
Symptoms: breathing difficulty, followed by viral or bacterial pneumonia (so yes—ventilators were needed).
