Just a follow up. Thanks for the filters Cheese, Xalor.
I have had a chance, and some time to review the second filter Xalor wrote.
The filter picked everyone of my previous plays. Very Exciting.
The filter also put me on to other stocks, that rocketed too.
I was aware of these other stocks, but felt at the time I caught them to late, and didn't participate.
Xalor with this filter it seems you captured the exact symmetry I was looking for.
VXRT which was the first play, moved very nicely , the day after you wrote the filter, in the face of major headwinds.
It gapped up huge in the AM. I waited until the close to buy, and picked up 1000 at 2.88.
Is it possible to backtest this filter and see the results.
I set aside 22k for this filter, and as the stocks come up I'll post my plays.
Thanks big-time again.
Robert

Robert kossvet,

I'm happy for you and your big gains.
I'm sure that you and Xarlor must be better traders than I am.
So. I wouldn't take anything away from either of you if I say:
luck has something to do with the success of your trades and filters
in this thread.

I may be dead wrong but in normal non-coronavirus times,
what is the chance that
the stocks like the ones you get from your filters in this thread
could have more outrageous gains on top of outrageous gains
from the previous days?

I suspect that
in more normal times,
some of the outputs of Xarlor's second filter would be
potential inputs to Village Elder's short selling filters,
and V E has shown us a paper trading win rate of about 70%.

V E and Ed S are experts in V E short selling filters
so it would be great if we could have their opinions, too.

Happy trading.

Hi Cheese

Village Elders short filter is a great shorting filter.
I have followed the thread, and also engaged in some of his plays.
I have seen him post his results countless times, and I'm a believer in his method.
Although I usually apply his stocks picks with the use of Puts and Calls instead of shorting directly.
On balance I have been profitable playing Village Elders stock picks.
Kudos to Village Elder.
As for the the tremendous push the Corona virus has given to some of my plays, I would agree, only recently has this been the case.
I have been trading this particular setup since late August.
Before Corona.
Also, the market has been hugely propped up by funny money, and I knew that the fed was going to be doing this.
That gave me the overwhelming impetus, and belief to continue trades along this venue.
It wasn't until I saw how many of the low priced Bio-pharma stocks that I missed, I knew then I was on to something.
Don't get me wrong Cheese, I had losers as well, but the winners gained more.
I believe, (right or wrong) that these low priced stocks are like trading options.
Only, without the handicap of time decay.
Robert

kossvet,

Thank you for sharing more details of your past successes.

Please clarify one more thing for me:
Are your stock picks and trading more appropriate for options?

Cheese

Many of these low priced pharma stocks don't have options.
It kind of defeats the reason for trading them
Because the price, generally speaking is less than 3, I find it better to just trade the stock.
Plus, I'm not encumbered by paying to much for the option, and I don't suffer from time decay.
For someone not willing to risk trading capital, I would trade each play for only 100 shares.
Not a lot of money to risk, to maybe have substantial returns.
That is the reason I asked if someone could back test the filter Xalor laid out.
I have been trading my plays at a thousand share a pop.
I will continue buying 1000 at a time.
I originally set aside 10k for this venture.
Fortunately it blossomed to 22k.
I will continue to risk the total amount, at 1000 a pop.
With the advent of Xalors filter, I will now be in many more plays simultaneously.
I'll soon find out if this feasible over a larger playing field.
My sell signal is when the close, closes below MA(20) for 2 days.
I have yet to hold one of these candidates for more than a month.
I work a full time job, and don't have a computer screen in front of me all day.
I suppose if someone trades for a living, this system could give them agita.
Hope this clarifies it further for you Cheese.

Robert
